Paula Vargas

Paula Vargas is a seasoned legal expert with extensive experience in privacy policy, public policy, and regulatory affairs. Vargas has served as the Director of Privacy Policy for Latin America and Canada at Meta since 2021, following roles at Facebook where responsibilities included leading privacy and public policy initiatives. Previous experience includes consulting on Internet public policy and regulatory affairs for notable companies such as Facebook and Google, as well as acting as the Public Utilities Program Coordinator at the Civil Association for Equality and Justice, where leadership encompassed complex litigation and consumer protection advocacy. Vargas holds multiple advanced degrees in law, including a Master in Corporate Law, a Master in Environmental Law, and a Master of Laws in Law & Technology, complemented by specialized certifications in arbitration, mediation, and the legal frameworks of energy economics.
