Rasoul Asaee

Rasoul Asaee, PhD, currently serves as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Meta since October 2025. Previously, Rasoul held the position of Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Scribd, Inc., where significant contributions included leading the development of a personalized re-ranking pipeline that reduced business costs by over 20%. Prior experience also includes a role as a Research Scientist at Natural Resources Canada, focusing on machine learning model development for predicting energy demand. Rasoul has taught engineering courses at Carleton University and The University of British Columbia and has a comprehensive academic background with a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from Dalhousie University and several roles as a researcher and teaching assistant.
