Samarth Mittal

Samarth Mittal is a skilled software engineer with experience in developing innovative systems for anomaly detection, user behavior analytics, and ad targeting metrics. At Nutanix, Samarth designed a scalable anomaly detection system utilizing machine learning methods, achieving a low false positive rate while processing large data volumes. A stint at Meta as a software engineer intern involved creating metrics to assess gender distribution impacts in ad targeting, coupled with implementing scalable analysis pipelines. Further experience includes research internships focused on advancing object detection algorithms and enhancing image classification performance through various techniques, leading to a patent and publication. Samarth holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Currently, Samarth is a software engineer at Meta, contributing to the Ads Fairness team.
