Shima Imani

Shima Imani is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in data science and machine learning. Currently serving as a Research Engineer at Meta since October 2024, Shima previously held the role of Senior Data and Applied Scientist at Microsoft from December 2021 to October 2024, and also worked as a Data Science Intern at Uptake in 2019, specializing in time series forecasting with machine learning algorithms. Shima’s academic background includes a PhD in Computer Science and a Master’s in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of California, Riverside, where involvement included research on Weyl semimetals and data mining techniques. Additional industry experience includes a Machine Learning Internship at Tesla and research roles within the UCR Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
