Tianyi Yang is an experienced optical scientist with a strong background in astrophysics and optical design. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Astrophysics from the University of Rochester, obtained in 2022, Tianyi has worked extensively in both academic and industry settings. Notable positions include a doctoral role focused on 3D gradient index optics with Professor Duncan T. Moore at the University of Rochester, as well as research assistantships analyzing N-body simulation data with Professors Beth Willman and Annika Peter, and conducting MEMS studies under Professor Walter Smith. Tianyi has also contributed to a dwarf satellite galaxy survey at Kitt Peak National Observatory and completed a research internship at Facebook Reality Lab, developing techniques for measuring optical component dynamics. Currently, Tianyi is employed as an optical scientist at Meta.
