Tom Sela

Tom Sela is an accomplished security professional with extensive experience in malware research and security engineering. At Trusteer (IBM Security), Tom served as a Malware Researcher and later as a Malware Research Team Leader, focusing on reverse engineering malware and developing anti-fraud solutions. As a Submarine Officer in the Israeli Navy, Tom led the submarines' section in operational R&D, defining product requirements and managing acceptance processes for combat systems. Tom further honed security skills at Illusive Networks as Head of Security Research, where leadership and innovation in threat detection were key responsibilities. Currently, Tom holds the role of Security Engineering Lead at Meta, building on a robust foundation that includes a BSc in Computer Science from Ben-Gurion University and experience in tech-focused venture capital at Team8.
