Tong He

Tong Tong is an accomplished researcher with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and computer vision. Currently serving as a Staff Research Scientist at Meta's Superintelligence Lab, Tong focuses on reasoning, reinforcement learning, post-training, and large language models. Previous roles include Senior Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, where contributions included the co-creation of Deep Think and advancements in multi-modality AI. Tong's career also encompasses significant positions at Waymo, where expertise in perception and end-to-end driving led to contributions in Gemini-based self-driving systems and temporal sensor fusion for 3D object detection. Additional research experience includes internships at Facebook Reality Labs and Adobe, along with foundational work at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and UCLA. Tong holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
