Wenlei Wenlei is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in compiler technology and optimization. At Microsoft from 2012 to February 2015, Wenlei made significant contributions including the invention of Data-Dependent Control Flow Reduction and a major rewrite of MSVC's C++ 11 atomic<> implementation. Wenlei progressed to the role of Principal Software Engineer, leading a cross-company team to develop sample-based profile guided optimization (SPGO) for Visual C++. Additionally, as a Senior Software Engineer, Wenlei was a major contributor to the first industry compiler featuring complete incremental Whole Program Analysis. Since joining Meta in 2019, Wenlei initially served as a Senior Staff Software Engineer and currently holds the position of Principal Software Engineer, overseeing compiler teams and optimizing Meta's extensive compute infrastructure, resulting in substantial cost savings.
