Yang Xu

Yang Xu is an accomplished software engineer with extensive experience in machine learning and system optimization. Currently, Yang serves as a Software Engineer at Meta since May 2025, following a role as a Senior Software Engineer at Aurora from January 2021 to May 2025, where Yang focused on LiDAR-based detection systems and machine learning model enhancements. Prior to that, Yang worked at Uber from September 2017 to January 2021, contributing to the perception systems for self-driving cars. Earlier experience includes software engineering positions at Susquehanna International Group and Mastercard, along with a research assistantship at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where Yang developed a protein structural classification system. Educational qualifications comprise a Graduate Certificate in Mining Massive Data Sets from Stanford University and a Master of Science in Computer Science (Bioinformatics) from the University of Missouri-Columbia, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Xi'an University of Technology.
