Yanxin Pan

Yanxin Pan is an accomplished research scientist with extensive experience in data science and machine learning. Yanxin's professional journey began with summer internships at Bank of Shanghai and General Motors, where insights into consumer preferences for automobile aesthetics were gained. As a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan, Yanxin developed deep learning methodologies to predict aesthetic design preferences across varied markets. Following this, Yanxin served as an Associate Quantitative Investment Analyst at Longqi Scientific Investment, where a high-frequency trading algorithm was created, achieving impressive returns. At Walmart Labs, Yanxin advanced to the role of Staff Data Scientist and Machine Learning Engineer, successfully developing large-scale solutions for data challenges in e-commerce. Currently, Yanxin holds the position of Applied Research Scientist at Meta, focusing on generative AI applications. Yanxin holds a Ph.D. in Design Science from the University of Michigan.
