Yongzhou (Alvin) Chen is a Research Scientist at Meta, having joined in April 2025. Previously, Chen served as a Research Intern at Microsoft from May 2023 to August 2023, where a multi-path data center network protocol was designed and implemented to enhance communication efficiency for large-scale AI/ML applications. Additionally, Chen worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Coordinated Science Laboratory at the University of Illinois from September 2019 to April 2025. In the summer of 2022, Chen completed a Software Engineer Internship at Google, focusing on developing an advanced congestion control algorithm to facilitate rapid RPC transfers amidst production background traffic. Chen is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a program that began in 2019 and is expected to conclude in 2024.
