Yunlai Chen

Yunlai Chen is an accomplished research scientist currently at Meta, with a focus on AI infrastructure for large-scale recommendation systems. Prior experience includes an AI Developer Technology Internship at NVIDIA, where significant optimizations in 6D pose estimation inference were achieved through profiling and custom CUDA kernel development. As a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Washington University in St. Louis, Yunlai contributed to the development of a GPU-based 3D PET image reconstruction framework and collaborated with Siemens Healthcare on augmented whole-body imaging. Additionally, a software engineer internship at Amazon involved designing a data portal that significantly improved decision-making efficiency for program managers. Yunlai holds a Master's degree in Medical Radiologic Technology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, and is pursuing a PhD in Imaging Science at the same institution, following a Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China.
