Karen Debalsi

Principal Scientist, Diagnostic Metabolomics at Metabolon

Karen DeBalsi has extensive work experience in the field of metabolomics and research. Karen started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at Bridgewater State University, then progressed to be a PhD Student Researcher at Duke University. Karen continued their research career as an IRTA Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Currently, Karen holds various roles at Metabolon, Inc., including Study Director - Commercial, Senior Study Director, Senior Scientist, and Principal Scientist.

Karen DeBalsi earned their Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Boston University in 1988. Karen then pursued a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy/Therapist from Boston University School of Rehabilitation Sciences, graduating in 1998. Later, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Bridgewater State University in 2006. Finally, Karen received their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmacology and Cell Biology from Duke University Graduate School in 2013.
