Stoyan Stoyanov has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Stoyan started their career at Aplus.net in 2002 as a Unix System Administrator and worked there for 5 years. In 2007, they joined Qualcomm as a System Engineer for a year before moving on to Hostway as a Senior Unix Administrator from 2008 to 2011. Stoyanov then joined UC San Diego and worked there from 2012 to 2023 in various roles, including Research/Unix Systems Administrator, Senior Systems Engineer, and Principal IT Architect. In 2022, they briefly worked at UC San Diego Extended Studies as a Course Author/Teacher. Currently, they are employed at MetalSoft as a Senior Systems Engineer starting from 2023.
Stoyan Stoyanov completed their education from 1991 to 1996 at the Technical University of Sofia, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Information Technology. In addition to their academic qualifications, Stoyanov holds several certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) obtained in November 2019, CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator from The Linux Foundation obtained in June 2019, and CKAD: Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, also from The Linux Foundation, obtained in June 2019.
