Satoshi Murakami

Director, Head Of APAC at MetaProp

Satoshi Murakami has a diverse work experience in the real estate and PropTech industries. Satoshi currently serves as the Director and Head of APAC at MetaProp, where they are responsible for building relationships with key decision-makers and sourcing and evaluating APAC PropTech startups for investment. In addition, they support the growth of MetaProp's portfolio companies in the APAC region. Prior to this, Satoshi worked as a Director at Sumitomo Corporation of Americas from 2018 to 2022.

Before joining Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, Satoshi had a previous internship at MetaProp in 2021. Satoshi began their career at Sumitomo Corporation in 2009, where they held roles as a Senior Associate and an Associate. As a Senior Associate, they played a key role in real estate acquisition and disposition, conducting feasibility studies and due diligence frameworks, and concluding acquisitions totaling $500 million across various real estate asset classes. As an Associate, Satoshi managed a large shopping mall development project that exceeded the original budget and received recognition as the Shopping Center of The Year 2012 from the Japan Council of Shopping Centers. Overall, Satoshi has proven their expertise in real estate development, asset management, and business coordination within the APAC region.

Satoshi Murakami obtained a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Keio University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. In 2001, they attended Keio Academy of New York for three years. In 2019, they participated in the Continuing Studies Program on Early Stage Investing at Stanford University. In terms of additional certifications, Satoshi Murakami obtained the Foundations of User Experience (UX) Design certification from Google in September 2021, as well as the Foundations of Project Management certification from Google in July 2021.
