Roohollah Azad currently serves as a model developer in operational weather prediction at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute, a position held since July 2014. This role involves programming, numerical weather prediction, data assimilation, and forecasting energy weather, with participation in several externally funded research projects focused on the integration of radar data for hydropower and wind energy forecasting. Previously, Roohollah held a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Bergen, leading research on the relationship between large-scale moisture transport and extreme orographic precipitation, and completed a PhD in meteorology and atmospheric modeling at the same institution, examining the dynamics of extratropical cyclones in the North Atlantic.
