Geoffrey Urban

Geoffrey Urban has extensive work experience in procurement and materials management. Geoffrey started their career in 1984 with the Transit Professional Training Program at CTA. Geoffrey then held various roles at CTA, including Project Control Analyst, Construction Controller, and Senior Project Analyst. Geoffrey later became the Coordinator of Project Oversight, overseeing numerous grant-funded projects. In 1998, they transitioned to Managerial positions, specializing in vehicle and facilities maintenance purchasing. In 2003, Geoffrey joined the Chicago Transit Authority as the General Manager of Purchasing, responsible for third-party contracting and contract administration. In 2012, they joined Metra Commuter Rail as the Senior Director of Materials Management and later took on the role of Acting Senior Division Director and then Senior Division Director of Procurement Operations. Geoffrey's expertise includes overseeing procurement divisions, managing contracts, and ensuring projects are within scope, schedule, and budget.

Geoffrey Urban completed their education with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago in the years 1979 to 1984. Geoffrey then pursued further studies and obtained a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law from 1990 to 1994.
