Dr Sian Leech-Mills has worked in a range of roles in the scientific and research industry since 2000. Dr Sian began their career as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at The University of Manchester, followed by a Post Doctoral Translational Scientist role at AstraZeneca in 2002. Dr Sian then held two Post Doctoral Research Associate roles at the University of Sheffield from 2003 to 2008, followed by a Laboratory Manager role at the University of Leeds. In 2009, they became Laboratory Superintendent at the University of Hull, then Laboratory and Facilities Manager at the University of Cambridge in 2018. In 2020, they took on the role of Laboratory & Facilities Manager, MRC Toxicology Unit at the University of Cambridge. Most recently, they are the Laboratory & Safety Manager at Metrion Biosciences since 2022.
Dr Sian Leech-Mills has a diverse educational background. Dr Sian obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Technology from Sheffield Hallam University between 1989 and 1993. Dr Sian then went on to the University of the West of England, where they earned their Master's Degree in Biotechnology in 1995-1996. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Oncology and Cancer Biology at the University of Zurich between 1997 and 2000.
