Steve Jenkinson

Steve Jenkinson's work experience begins with their current role as the VP of Drug Discovery and Safety Assessment in the USA at Metrion Biosciences. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Secondary Pharmacology at Pfizer from December 2021 to May 2023. From 2017 to 2021, Steve held the position of Director of In Vitro Safety Pharmacology at Pfizer, and from 2010 to 2017, they worked as an Associate Director at the same company. Before joining Pfizer, Steve worked as the In Vitro Pharmacology Group Leader at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they had managerial and research investigator roles at GSK from 2001 to 2006. Steve's career at Pfizer began in 1997, where they held the positions of Principal Scientist from 2000 to 2001 and Senior Scientist from 1997 to 2000. Steve started their research career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Neurosciences Institute from 1995 to 1997, focusing on synaptogenesis and synaptic plasticity. Prior to that, they served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Scripps Research from 1994 to 1995.

Steve Jenkinson obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honors in Pharmacology from the University of Glasgow from 1986 to 1990. Steve then pursued a Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University of Leicester from 1990 to 1993. Later, they earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Research, specifically a Masters Of Advanced Studies in Clinical Research, from UC San Diego, where they attended from 2015 to 2017. Throughout their education, Steve focused on the field of Pharmacology.
