Gary Eelman

Gary Eelman has extensive experience in the transportation industry, holding various leadership positions throughout their career. Gary currently serves as the Vice President of Business Development at Metro East Industries since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Principal at West Mountain Consulting, LLC from November 2021 to May 2023.

Before joining Metro East Industries, Eelman spent several years at Progress Rail, A Caterpillar Company where they held multiple roles, including Senior Vice President - Strategic Initiatives from May 2021 to November 2021, Senior Vice President - Transit & Global Locomotive Engine Sales from October 2018 to May 2021, and Vice President - Passenger Locomotive Sales, Repower, Leasing from August 2010 to October 2018.

Gary also served as the Adjunct Instructor at Boise State University from January 2020 to July 2020. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President Sales, Marketing & Customer Service at Motive Power Inc. from February 2007 to October 2010.

Eelman's earlier work experience includes being the President of Sierra Transportation Group Inc. from December 1999 to October 2007 and President - Rail Equipment Services at Helm Financial Corporation from October 1987 to September 1999.

Gary began their career at NJ Transit, where they worked as the Chief Mechanical Officer from January 1983 to October 1987.

Gary Eelman has participated in the Leadership Module for Senior Leaders program at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, NC. Additionally, they have completed training in Accident Root Cause Analysis at the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
