Ashford Hughes Sr.

Ashford Hughes Sr. is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion across various organizations. Currently serving as the Executive Officer for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Metro Nashville Public Schools since June 2020, Ashford also consults for Blueprint Solutions Group, LLC. Previously, Ashford held notable positions such as Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer and Senior Advisor to the Mayor on Labor and Workforce Development for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County from November 2015 to October 2019. Earlier roles include Assistant Business Manager at LIUNA, Political Director for the Tennessee Democratic Party, and various campaign management positions. Ashford holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Government from Tennessee State University.
