Damon R. Cathey

Damon R Cathey, Ed.D., serves as Executive Principal at Metro Nashville Public Schools since July 2013 and has held various leadership positions including Associate Superintendent for Elementary Schools and Community Superintendent for the Northeast Quadrant. Prior to this, Damon worked as Director of School Reform and Chief Academic Officer at Tribal Education, Inc., where collaboration with Metro Nashville Public Schools supported 33 High Priority schools. Damon's experience also includes serving as Assistant Superintendent for Kingsport City Schools, Director of Moreno Valley High School, and roles as Teacher and Principal within Metro Nashville Public Schools. Damon holds an Ed.D. in School Administration from Vanderbilt University and additional degrees from Tennessee State University and The University of Memphis.
