Gina Smallwood

Gina Smallwood, Ed.D., is the Coordinator of the Office of Gifted and Talented Education at Metro Nashville Public Schools, with responsibilities spanning PreK-8 Gifted and Talented Programs. With a career at Metro Nashville Public Schools beginning in July 2012, Gina has also served as a Senior Information Analyst, utilizing data to guide instructional decisions within the Schools of Innovation network, and as a District Data Coach, where collaboration with stakeholders focused on maximizing student achievement through data-informed strategies. Previously, from August 1991 to June 2012, Gina was an educator in the Lebanon Special School District, contributing as a General Education and Gifted Education teacher, Lead Teacher, Leadership Team member, and Mentor. Gina holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Tennessee State University, as well as degrees in Educational Leadership and a Master's in Educational, Instructional, and Curriculum Supervision.
