Colonel Dwayne Kerr

CAF Liaison Officer at Metro Supply Chain Group Inc.

Dwayne, like many a base brat, ended up joining the CAF as an Aerospace Controller in 1986. After postings and temporary duties throughout Canada, the USA and Europe, his current family home on the Ottawa River is destined as the future retirement home

In 2001, Dwayne graduated from the University Training Programme for Officers (UTPO) with a Bachelor’s degree in Military Arts and Sciences from the Royal Military College (RMC), Kingston. A most rewarding tour immediately followed: the RMC Squadron Commander of 1 Sqn, the Stone Frigate Military Academy (SFMA).

In 2006, then Maj Kerr retired from the Regular Force and entered the Air Reserve Force at 19 Wing Comox where he was initially employed as a Wing Operations plans officer concentrating on aerospace contingency plans, fighter operations and the 2010 Olympics (OP Podium). From 2013-2018 as the19 Wing Deputy Operations Centre Director, he indirectly became an Armed Forces Day expert vis-à-vis his role as the Comox Airshow 2013 Director.

Completing the Joint Command and Staff Programme in 2017 led to a Masters in Defence Studies (MDS) with RMC in May 2018 and a promotion to LCol in July 2018. Dwayne and family were posted to the NCR where he recently worked in the RCAF Directorate of Air Personnel Strategy and as the President of the Mess Committee (PMC) for the RCAF Officers Mess.

Entering year 33 in CAF, Dwayne is now employed as the VCDS Liaison Officer to the Conference of Defence Associates Institute, where he supports the formalized relationship between the CAF and the CDAI. In this capacity he helps provide situation awareness and context to communication and ensures that connections between the CAF and CDAI are coordinated, aligned and synchronized.
