Senior Engagement Specialist (climate) at Metro Vancouver

Rita Farkas is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and environmental policy. Currently serving as a Senior Engagement Specialist focused on climate issues at Metro Vancouver since April 2019, Rita also holds the position of Senior Policy Advisor for the National Zero Waste Council, emphasizing waste prevention and the circular economy. Previously, Rita worked as a Consultant at Realize Strategies from January 2013 to April 2019, providing support in strategic planning, community engagement, and project management. Additional roles include Project Manager at the BC Co-operative Association, Policy Intern at West Coast Environmental Law, and Compliance Promotion at Environment Canada. Rita holds a Master of Arts in environmental policy from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Arts in environmental geography from The University of British Columbia.
