Curtis Bilyeu has a diverse work experience in the field of mental health. Curtis started their career as a Psychiatric Nursing Assistant III at North Texas State Hospital in 2005, where they ensured the safety of the facility and collaborated with the treatment team. From 2008 to 2010, Curtis worked as a Patient Care Assistant at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, specializing in geriatric psychiatric care. Curtis evaluated patients and provided them with therapeutic skills and coping mechanisms. In 2010, Curtis had an internship as a Medical Assistant at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. From 2010 to 2011, they served as a Patient Care Technician at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, specifically in the Neurosurgery Unit, where they managed client movement and documented patient information. Curtis then worked as a Psychiatric Crisis Triage Assistant at Denton County MHMR Center from February to December 2014, providing quality care, implementing procedures, and assisting individuals in a psychiatric facility. From 2014 to 2018, they worked as a Mental Health Technician II at HCA Healthcare. More recently, they joined Metrocare Services in 2018 as a Qualified Mental Health Professional, where they provide psychosocial and rehabilitative services to individuals with mental illness and offers counseling in various forms. Additionally, Curtis had a one-year stint as a Student Practicum Counselor in 2019. Throughout their career, Curtis has demonstrated a commitment to mental health care and the well-being of their patients.

- From 2017 to 2019, Curtis attended Lamar University and obtained a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
- From 2011 to 2016, Curtis attended the University of Phoenix and earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Psychology.
- In 2009 and 2010, Curtis attended Anthem Career College-Memphis and obtained a Diploma in Medical/Clinical Assistant studies.
- In 2005, Curtis attended Vernon Regional Jr. College and earned a Certificate in Mental Health/Mental Retardation Technician.

- In December 2022, Curtis obtained the Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression (SAMA) certification from Metrocare Services.
- Also in December 2022, Curtis obtained the Texas Adult Needs and Strengths Assessment (ANSA) certification from The John Praed Foundation.
- In March 2021, Curtis obtained Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from the American Heart Association.
- In January 2018, Curtis obtained the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) certification from FEMA.
- Lastly, Curtis obtained the Mental Health Mental Retardation Technician certification from Vernon Regional Jr. College in October 2005.

WHO WE ARE Metrocare is changing minds! We are North Texas' leading nonprofit dedicated to helping people with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and severe emotional problems live healthier lives. The primary disorders treated by Metrocare include depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia, anxiety, autism, ADD, and ADHD. OUR OPPORTUNITIES Metrocare hires psychologists and psychiatrists (bilingual and Spanish-language skills are needed and valued). We have research programs, and we train a new generation of mental health professionals for work in the public sector. OUR SERVICES Metrocare serves over 50,000 people annually. We provide adult mental healthcare services, including medication management, children and adolescent mental healthcare services, mental retardation/developmental disability services for adults and children, early childhood intervention services, primary healthcare services for families, pharmacy services, and social services that include housing services, occupational services, and foster care training and monitoring. OUR CLINICS Our 14 clinics and satellite clinics (including 7 main clinics) include two Centers for Children with Autism. Clinics are in Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Addison.
