Kathy Melton has work experience as a Qualified Mental Health Provider at Metrocare Services since December 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Biblical Life Coach at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Counseling Center from January 2016 to December 2017, where they provided Christian counseling to individuals, couples, and families. Additionally, they volunteered as a Chemical Addictions Group Facilitator from January 2016 to December 2017.
Kathy Melton has a strong educational background in the field of behavioral studies and counseling. Kathy obtained their Doctor of Advanced Behavioral Studies degree from Capella University, specializing in Liberal Arts and Sciences. This program lasted from 2022 to 2026. Prior to that, Kathy completed a Master's of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling, also at Capella University, which they pursued from 2011 to 2017. In 2009, Kathy earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Ashford University.
In addition to their academic degrees, Kathy Melton holds two additional certifications. One is in Behavioral Mental Health, which they obtained from Capella University in March 2017. The other certification is in Chemical Addictions, which they attained from Capella University in November 2016.

WHO WE ARE Metrocare is changing minds! We are North Texas' leading nonprofit dedicated to helping people with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and severe emotional problems live healthier lives. The primary disorders treated by Metrocare include depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia, anxiety, autism, ADD, and ADHD. OUR OPPORTUNITIES Metrocare hires psychologists and psychiatrists (bilingual and Spanish-language skills are needed and valued). We have research programs, and we train a new generation of mental health professionals for work in the public sector. OUR SERVICES Metrocare serves over 50,000 people annually. We provide adult mental healthcare services, including medication management, children and adolescent mental healthcare services, mental retardation/developmental disability services for adults and children, early childhood intervention services, primary healthcare services for families, pharmacy services, and social services that include housing services, occupational services, and foster care training and monitoring. OUR CLINICS Our 14 clinics and satellite clinics (including 7 main clinics) include two Centers for Children with Autism. Clinics are in Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Addison.
