Laura Stryker has extensive work experience in various industries. Laura worked as a Housing Operations Coordinator at Metrocare Services, where they successfully communicated with executives and managed housing occupancy for over 200 units. At the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, they were an Environmental Permit Specialist I, responsible for reviewing and writing state air permit applications. Laura also worked as a Book Seller at Barnes & Noble. As an Administrative Assistant at the Texas Charter School Academic and Athletic League, they handled accounts payable and receivable, detected billing errors, and organized the office. Laura also gained experience as a Recycling Advocate Intern at United Electronic Recycling, where they located potential clients and informed them about the services provided. Laura also worked as a Billing Specialist at LifeNet Texas on a seasonal basis. Their earliest work experience was as a Research Assistant at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where they ran the Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Core and conducted various tasks such as placing orders, creating invoices, and running experiments.
Laura Stryker completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biology, General from Austin College, where they studied from 2006 to 2012. Later, from 2011 to 2013, they pursued a Master's degree in Environmental Science at the University of North Texas.

WHO WE ARE Metrocare is changing minds! We are North Texas' leading nonprofit dedicated to helping people with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and severe emotional problems live healthier lives. The primary disorders treated by Metrocare include depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia, anxiety, autism, ADD, and ADHD. OUR OPPORTUNITIES Metrocare hires psychologists and psychiatrists (bilingual and Spanish-language skills are needed and valued). We have research programs, and we train a new generation of mental health professionals for work in the public sector. OUR SERVICES Metrocare serves over 50,000 people annually. We provide adult mental healthcare services, including medication management, children and adolescent mental healthcare services, mental retardation/developmental disability services for adults and children, early childhood intervention services, primary healthcare services for families, pharmacy services, and social services that include housing services, occupational services, and foster care training and monitoring. OUR CLINICS Our 14 clinics and satellite clinics (including 7 main clinics) include two Centers for Children with Autism. Clinics are in Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Addison.
