Rodney Jones

Director, Bus Fleet Development, Engineering & Asset Management Team at Metrolinx

Rodney Jones has a diverse work experience spanning from 2002 to the present. Rodney currently works at Metrolinx as the Director of the Bus Fleet Development, Engineering & Asset Management Team, where they are responsible for the Next Gen Bus Program and managing all aspects of project delivery. Prior to this role, they served as the Engineering Manager of the Bus Fleet Maintenance Engineering Team at Metrolinx, overseeing engineering and procurement for new buses and refurbishment projects.

Rodney's early career includes roles at General Motors, where they served as the Global Lead for the Canadian Regional Engineering Centre, overseeing the evaluation, sourcing, and development of global corporate common solutions for advanced technologies. Rodney also worked as an Electrical Design Engineer and as an Events Marketing Consultant, leading experiential marketing initiatives targeting the Canadian urban and youth demographics.

Rodney Jones attended the University of Waterloo from an unspecified start year until 2002, earning an Honors Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Agincourt Collegiate Institute. In 2007, Rodney obtained the certification of Professional Engineer of Ontario from Professional Engineers Ontario.
