Zekeriya Karakoc

Zekeriya Karakoc is a seasoned safety professional with extensive experience in various sectors, notably in rapid transit safety at Metrolinx since November 2023. Previously, Zekeriya served as Track Protection Foreman at A&B Rail Services Ltd, where responsibilities included ensuring track safety, coordinating contractors, and conducting safety briefings. Prior experience includes roles as an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist at Tüyap Tüm Fuarcılık Yapım A.Ş., where Zekeriya implemented ISO management standards and conducted audits, and as an Expert Witness for the Ministry of Justice of Turkey, focusing on mining and health and safety cases. Zekeriya also trained personnel on safety regulations and emergency procedures through various training roles, starting as a Mining Engineer in an underground coal mine. Zekeriya holds an Engineer's degree in Mining Engineering from Istanbul University, a Master’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety from İstanbul Yeni Yüzyıl Üniversitesi, and an Associate’s degree in Marketing and Foreign Trade from Anadolu University.
