Panagiotis Karagounis has a diverse range of work experience. Panagiotis is currently working as a Sports Medicine Physician at Panathinaikos F.C. since June 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Scientific Director of the PRM Department at Metropolitan Hospital since October 2016. From 2009 to the present, they have worked as an independent professional specializing in Mesotherapy & Medical Acupuncture. Panagiotis has also been a part of the medical teams for the Greek Tae Kwon Do National Federation and the Greek Judo National Federation since 2008 and 2004 respectively. Panagiotis served as the Medical Director of Inpatient Services at Anaplasi Rehabilitation Centre from June 2021 to December 2021. Additionally, they worked as a PRM Specialist at Filoktitis Center for Recovery & Rehabilitation from November 2014 to May 2021. Panagiotis started their medical career as a Trainee Doctor in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at KAT General Hospital from April 2011 to October 2014. Panagiotis also contributed their medical expertise as a member of the medical team at Athinaikos Women BC from September 2010 to May 2011. Panagiotis worked as the Chief Physician at Alpha Bank from March 2008 to April 2011.
Panagiotis Karagounis obtained their MSc degree in Sports Medicine from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2004, which they completed in 2007. Panagiotis later pursued a PhD in Sports Medicine at the same university from 2008 to 2012. In 2013, they obtained a certification in European Board of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine (EBPRM) from the European Board of PRM.
