Librarian (Community Libraries) at Metropolitan Library System

Mary West has a diverse work experience in the library and community engagement field. Mary started their career at the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County in 2014 as a Public Computer Specialist at the Midwest City Library. Mary then moved on to become a Youth Engagement Specialist I at the Southern Oaks Library from October 2015 to December 2017. In December 2017, they transitioned to the role of Engagement Specialist II at the Community Libraries. In this role, they developed and facilitated programs for children aged 0-12 and built relationships with outside organizations. Since March 2022, Mary has been working as a Librarian at the Metropolitan Library System, where they plan and facilitates teen programs, supervises volunteers, and contributes to various teams. Before their work at the Metropolitan Library System, Mary was a Job Skills Developer and AmeriCorps Member at the Intergenerational Computer Center from September 2013 to August 2014.

Mary West completed their high school education at Bishop Kelley High School from 2009 to 2013, earning a High School Diploma. Mary then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Marketing with a focus on Business Administration from Oklahoma City University, graduating in 2017. Recently, from 2019 to 2021, Mary obtained a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University.
