John Coleman

John Coleman is an experienced stage manager with a career spanning over three decades in the opera and event industries. Currently serving as a Stage Manager at the Metropolitan Opera since August 2021, John has also worked as a Freelance Contractor for Event Services since 1997. Previous roles include Adjunct Faculty at DePaul University and Production Stage Manager at the Lyric Opera of Chicago for 30 seasons, overseeing more than 100 productions. Notable engagements include stage management for world premieres at multiple opera companies such as Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and Houston Grand Opera. John holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Technical Theatre, specializing in Stage Management, from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
