John Ioannou is a Senior Advisor to Metropolitan Partners Group Management, where he focuses on talent and managing the Firm’s Operating Expert network. John is a former executive with IBM, President and CEO of multiple companies and an Operating Partner for private investment firms with a long track record of accomplishments. He has run and advised businesses ranging in size from startup to multi-billion-dollar units of Fortune 500 companies, with a concentration in the software, technology, services, credit and private equity industries. He has held leadership, turnaround, governance or advisory roles in 28 companies across 13 different industries. He has completed 12 acquisitions and raised over $350 million in private equity, venture capital and debt across multiple companies, stages and industries. He also led three separate industry buildups, including raising $120 million for a specialty finance initiative. During the last recession, John led the turnaround of an 850-person team that grew to over $100 million and tripled EBITDA in 3 years. He has also been the Head of Corporate Development for a $165 million global public manufacturing company. Earlier in his career, John built and ran several startup software and services companies. He also spent 14 years at IBM in management positions in finance, operations and marketing including COO/CFO of a $2 billion region. He held leadership positions at IBM where he was responsible for managing $1 billion in credit facilities and customer receivables and was a member of the executive team that helped launch the IBM Credit Corporation, which today is IBM Global Financing with an asset base over $30 billion. John is a summa cum laude graduate of St. Peter’s College with a B.S. in Management.
