Gregory Gurley has held various leadership positions throughout their career. Gregory is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at the Metropolitan Planning Council since 2022. Prior to this, they were the Chief Operating Officer at the National Runaway Safeline from 2021 to 2023. From 2020 to 2021, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at The Lincoln Academy. Before that, they held the position of Director of Operations at Thrive Chicago from 2016 to 2020. Gregory also has experience working as the Director of Operations and Manager of Business Support and Development at Distinctive Schools from 2011 to 2016, and as a Site Operations Manager at EdisonLearning from 2010 to 2011. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Account Executive at Tribune Interactive in 2009 and as the Director of Regional Operations (Southeast) at McCormick from 2006 to 2008.
Gregory Gurley earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management from 2012 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance/Sports Management from the University of Miami from 2001 to 2006. Additionally, they attended Whitney M. Young Magnet H.S. from 1997 to 2001.
