Michael Hightower has an extensive work experience that spans over three decades. Michael currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Metropolitan Protective Services, Inc. since October 2021. Prior to this, they held several key positions at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), including Unit Chief from January 2013 to August 2017, Supervisory Special Agent from March 2008 to January 2013, Supervisory Special Agent from October 2002 to March 2008, and Special Agent from July 1995 to October 2002. Michael also served as a Police Officer at the City of Athens, Georgia Police Department from January 1983 to July 1985, and as a Senior Criminal Investigator at the Dekalb County District Attorneys Office from July 1985 to April 1995.
Michael Hightower attended the University of Georgia from 1978 to 1982, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government. Michael has also completed several certifications throughout their career, including Leadership Development - Leading Projects Skills Certification from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in December 2018, Leadership Development - Managing People from the FBI in June 2012, Navigating Strategic Change from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in November 2005, Supervisors Management Certification from the FBI in April 2004, Special Agent Bomb Technician certification in April 1999, and became a Special Agent in the FBI in April 1995.
