Dr. Rose Wan-Mui Chu is an accomplished educator and leader in the field of urban education, currently serving as the Founder of Elevate Teaching and Plum Blossom Strategy LLC, where a focus on elevating the teaching profession and promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity in educational settings is paramount. As a School Board Director for Roseville Area Schools and a long-standing Professor Emerita of Urban Education at Metropolitan State University, Dr. Chu has dedicated significant efforts to improving the educational landscape, particularly for communities of color and American Indian communities in Minnesota. Additionally, Dr. Chu has held various roles, including serving as a 2022 Bush Fellow, an Assistant Commissioner at the Minnesota Department of Education, and a Senior Policy/Systems Fellow with the Minnesota Education Equity Partnership, emphasizing initiatives that sustain a diverse teaching workforce. Dr. Chu's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University.
