Marc Reaux

Marc Reaux has extensive experience in rail control and transit operations, having worked at the Metro Transit Authority since March 2007 as Supt. Rail Control. Prior to this role, Marc served as Chief Controller at the same organization from February 2005 to September 2007. Earlier positions include Rail Supervisor at the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County from March 2003 to January 2004 and a significant tenure at the Chicago Transit Authority from March 1988 to March 2003, where responsibilities ranged from rail controller duties managing train movements and incident management to supervising operators for rule compliance and operating trains as a conductor, motorman, and switchman.

Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County

The Texas State Legislature authorized the creation of local transit authorities in 1973. In 1978, Houston-area voters created METRO and approved a one-cent sales tax to support its operations. METRO opened for business in January 1979. The Authority has transformed a broken bus fleet into a regional multimodal transportation system. Communities that are part of the METRO area include the cities of Houston, Bellaire, Bunker Hill Village, El Lago, Hedwig Village, Hilshire Village, Humble, Hunters Creek, Katy, Missouri City, Piney Point, Southside Place, Spring Valley, Taylor Lake Village and West University Place. Major portions of unincorporated Harris County are also included.
