Karl W. Seckel, P.E. was elected to the Municipal Water District of Orange County Board of Directors in 2020, representing Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, portions of Newport Beach and Seal Beach.
He began his career as an engineer with Boyle Engineering Corporations where he worked for six years before his time with a civil engineering and water resources consulting firm in Orange County. In 1983, Seckel joined MWDOC as an operations engineer. Since then, Seckel has served as interim general manager, assistant general manager and district engineer.
Seckel received both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of California.
