Emmylou Manwill is an experienced Immigration Staff Attorney at MetroWest Legal Services, focusing on legal assistance for Afghan refugees in Massachusetts. With extensive experience in domestic violence advocacy, Emmylou has represented low-income survivors in restraining order hearings and family court cases. Emmylou has held teaching and research positions at Brandeis University and Boston University School of Law, contributing to access to justice for underserved communities. Emmylou's background also includes internships and fellowships centered on human trafficking and immigration law, alongside a managerial role in visitor services at the Utah State Capitol, where Emmylou received the Governor's Award for Excellence in Public Service. Emmylou holds a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law and dual bachelor's degrees from the University of Utah.

We help our clients secure access to basic needs and challenge institutional barriers in order to achieve equal justice for all. MetroWest Legal Services provides free civil legal aid to low-income people who would be denied justice without our help. Our priority practice areas include: Family Law, Housing, Homeless Advocacy, Government Benefits (including Social Security), Education, Elder Law & Immigration.
