Joe Pliss

Joe Pliss has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Joe currently serves as the Director of Project Management, Science at Metrum Research Group since July 2021. Prior to this, they were a Project Manager at the same company from October 2020 to July 2021.

From 2007 to 2020, Joe Pliss worked at Cengage in various roles. Joe initially held the position of Director of Technology, Trades Automotive, and Technology from June 2007 to December 2008, where they led the digital transformation of the print publishing unit. Joe then served as a Technical Product Manager for Enhanced Curriculum Solutions from January 2009 to October 2017, where they created integrated product solutions and consulted on technology investments. From November 2017 to February 2020, they held the role of Technical Product Manager for Outcomes-Based Curriculum Solutions, responsible for roadmap and scaling of new products and services.

Joe Pliss started their career at LexisNexis in 1989 as a Consulting Software Engineer. In this role, they provided leadership and consultation on platform and architectural decisions for the company's ERP, sales systems, and distribution systems until June 2007.

Joe Pliss obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General from the University at Albany, SUNY in 1993. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's of Science in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Binghamton University in 1986.
