Julian Smith

Julian Smith is an accomplished independent director and Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors with 16 years of governance experience. Their executive career includes diverse roles as a general and country manager in sectors such as utilities, digital services, financial services, and telecommunications. Currently, Julian serves as the Chair of the Te Tai Tokerau Northland Committee, an independent director for Watercare Services Limited, and is involved with various organizations, fostering strategies aimed at positive change and inclusivity. They hold a BCom in Marketing & International Trade and an LLB in Commercial Law from The University of Auckland and have recently completed a Certificate in Cybersecurity Governance with Harvard University. Outside of their professional commitments, Julian enjoys beekeeping and tree planting on their property in Matakohe, Northland, NZ.
