Evert Lessing has held numerous leadership positions throughout their career. From 2023 onwards, they worked as the Vice President of Engineering for Pumps at Metso. Prior to this, they held the same position at Metso Outotec starting in 2020. They also served as the Vice President of Research, Technology & Development for Pumps at Metso from 2020 to 2020. Before their time at Metso, Lessing worked as the Plant Manager at CQMS Razer in 2019. From 2007 to 2019, they worked at Weir Minerals Australia Ltd., starting as the Director of Engineering and Product Development before moving up to become the Director of Process Equipment. Lessing began their career as the Manufacturing Manager of Casting at Intercast & Forge in 2005, and before that, they worked at ION Automotive as a Quality & Technical Consultant and later as the Plant Manager. Their first role was as the Foundry Manager at Murray & Roberts - Engineered Excellence in 2000. They also served as the Plate Heat Treatment Plant Manager at ISCOR in 1999 and began their career as a Production Engineer at ISCOR in 1995.
Evert Lessing completed their education at the University of Pretoria. Evert obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Metallurgical Engineering from 1990 to 1994, followed by a Bachelor of Engineering Honours degree in the same field from 1996 to 1997. Finally, they pursued a Master of Engineering Management degree from 2004 to 2006.
