Piia Karhu

Piia Karhu is the President of Metals at Metso Outotec. Prior to their current role, they served as the Senior Vice President of Customer Experience at Finnair from 2013 to 2020, where they were responsible for customer management, ancillary business, customer care, and customer journey development. From 2007 to 2013, Piia worked as a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young Advisory Services, where they focused on management consulting assignments for clients in the wholesale/retail, manufacturing, and consumer goods sectors.

Piia has a proven track record of success in both the private and public sector. Piia is an effective leader with a strong focus on customer experience and satisfaction. Under their leadership, the team at Finnair was able to improve customer satisfaction scores and increase ancillary revenue by 160 MEUR.

Piia is a strategic thinker with a passion for continuous improvement. Piia is a strong advocate for using data and analytics to drive decision making. Piia has a deep understanding of both the customer journey and the end-to-end supply chain. This combination of skills makes their uniquely qualified to lead Metso Outotec's metals business into the future.

Piia Karhu has a Doctor in Business Administration from the University of St.Gallen, an M.Sc. (Econ. & BA) in Accounting from Helsingin kauppakorkeakoulu, and a degree from The University of Hong Kong. Piia also has a degree from Kiteen lukio.
