Rimas Avizienis

Technology & Solutions Implementation Specialist at Meyer Sound

Rimas Avizienis has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Rimas is currently working as a Technology & Solutions Implementation Specialist at Meyer Sound since 2018. Prior to this, they worked at SiFive as a System Engineer in 2016, where they contributed to the design of open-source hardware using the RISC-V ISA. Rimas also gained experience as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley from 2008 to 2016. During this time, they conducted research in various areas related to chip design. In 2012, Rimas worked as an intern at Nokia. Much earlier in their career, from 1999 to 2008, they served as a Research Engineer at the Center for New Music and Audio Technology at UC Berkeley. In this role, Rimas focused on designing and constructing hardware prototypes for various projects involving 3D sound reproduction, real-time audio processing, and sensor-based musical control interfaces.

Rimas Avizienis has a strong educational background in computer engineering and architecture. Rimas started their academic journey at the University of California, Berkeley in 1994 and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering. Rimas then furthered their studies at the same institution and completed a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Architecture from 2008 to 2011. Finally, Rimas Avizienis pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Architecture from 2011 to 2016, also at the University of California, Berkeley. Through these academic pursuits, they have developed an in-depth understanding of their field and is well-equipped to contribute to the advancement of computer technology.
