James Sills has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. James most recently served as the President and CEO of M&F Bank NC, where they were responsible for strategically transforming the community bank to improve operating performance, develop a sales culture, and attract new capital for growth. Prior to this role, James worked as the CIO/Cabinet Secretary for the State of Delaware, overseeing technology management for all branches of government. James also founded i9Direct.com, a web-based employment eligibility verification tool provider, and served as the IT Executive Vice President for the technology sector at Bank of America. In addition, James has held executive positions at Memphis First Community Bank and First Tuskegee Bank, where they played crucial roles in establishing and expanding those institutions.
James Sills attended Morehouse College from 1976 to 1980, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration. James then pursued a Master of Public Administration degree specializing in Financial Management & Information Systems at the University of Pittsburgh, from 1980 to 1982. Following a gap in their education, they returned to study at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1992 to 1994, completing a Bank Administration Certificate in Banking and Financial Support Services.
