Zama is the Head of Corporate Communications and Marketing where she tells the MFS Africa to the continent and the world. Zama has over 14 years’ experience in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors in strategic communications, brand, stakeholder engagement, management consulting. Through her work, she has assisted organisations and projects in different industries to build capabilities that connect them with various segments of the public, in support of their organisational missions. In her previous position, Zama was the Communications Manager at the South African Reserve Bank. She is currently the Chairperson of the National Development Agency in South Africa. Before joining the SARB, she was Deputy Managing Director of Digify Africa (formerly Livity Africa), Director (Communications) at the National Planning Commission Secretariat in the South African Presidency; and also worked as a management consultant at Accenture for nearly six years. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Johannesburg and a BAdmin Honours degree in Public Policy and Management from Stellenbosch University. Zama is fluent in English, a native Zulu speaker and can speak conversational Setswana. She is a published author and a columnist for Fin24.
