Abu Toppin

Abu Toppin is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in compliance, legal consulting, and diversity initiatives. Currently serving as a Compliance Business Partner at MFS Investment Management since March 2022, Toppin previously held the position of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Director for the City of Beverly from January 2021 to March 2022. A former Senior Legal Specialist at John Hancock, Toppin worked there from March 2016 to January 2021, and prior to that was an Assistant Vice President at DWS Group for nearly nine years. As the Owner and Certified Contract Advisor of Reliance Sports Management, Toppin managed operations and strategic initiatives for a sports management company focused on professional football players. Starting in the legal field as a Legal Consultant at Sun Life Financial from 2001 to 2005, Toppin's educational background includes a law degree from Suffolk University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Morehouse College.
