Elayathamby Surendra

Elayathamby Surendra is an experienced civil engineer with a strong background in road and bridge construction. Currently serving as an engineer at MG Consultants (Pvt) Ltd since March 2020, Elayathamby specializes in the construction of concrete roads in rural areas, overseeing projects valued at $50 million. Previously, as a resident engineer at Grontmij Group, responsibilities included the supply and laying of 136 km of transmission lines. During time at SMEC International in Australia, Elayathamby contributed to the construction and supervision of an intake and access bridge, while at Oriental Consultants in Japan, focus was on precast beam bridge construction and asphalt road design, also valued at $50 million. Experience began at NECORD as a project engineer overseeing initiatives in the Batticaloa District. Elayathamby holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and has attained the status of Chartered Engineer from the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka.
