Christy'sresponsibilities included conducting field research on Culex pipiens mosquitoes to determine their survival and dispersal patterns in urban, residential, and forested environments. This research aimed to understand the impact of vector survival and dispersal on the transmission of West Nile Virus and other mosquito-borne diseases. Christy also supervised and trained interns in mosquito ovary dissection, species identification, and trap set up for other vector surveillance studies.
Prior to their graduate studies, Christy worked as an Entomologist at i2LResearch from November 2006 to December 2007. Christy also gained experience at the Smithsonian Institution as a West Nile Virus Mosquito technician from May 2006 to October 2006.
